Hanoi Medical University Hospital

Introduction to Hanoi Medical University Hospital

Hanoi Medical University Hospital, established on January 16, 2007, under Decision No. 137/QD-BYT, opened on September 19, 2007. Located in Hanoi, Vietnam, the hospital has become a key healthcare facility, offering 500 beds to serve over 500,000 patients annually and employing over 1,000 medical professionals to provide excellent consultations, diagnostics, and treatment.

The hospital has 43 units, including 10 functional departments, 8 centers, 18 clinical departments, and 7 paraclinical departments. Spread across 5 blocks and covering a total construction area of 10,500 m² and a floor area of 22,300 m², committed to enhancing its medical services and ensuring a high-quality patient experience.

Demand for Nurse Call Systems

As the number of patients has grown over the years, hospital management recognized the need for an effective communication solution between nurses and patients. An efficient nurse call system ensures timely responses, reduces patient waiting times, and ultimately improves the quality of patient care.

To address this, the hospital leadership began exploring various nurse call systems available in the market, including IP Nurse Call Systems, Wired Nurse Call Systems, and Wireless Nurse Call Systems. They obtained quotations from Ascom and Jeron, both renowned for their IP Nurse Call Systems, and reached out to Yarward and Dnake, leading Chinese brands in Wired Nurse Call Systems.

At the same time, they contacted us, Aidbell, a trusted name in Wireless Nurse Call Systems from China. After in-depth discussions with Aidbell Team, the hospital’s leadership shared their concerns and requirements as follows:

Wiring Issues

Installing a wired nurse call system at Hanoi Medical University Hospital poses significant challenges due to the hospital’s existing infrastructure and the continuous use of patient beds. The nurse call system installation includes connecting each bed to the main nurse call station, installing corridor lights outside patient rooms, and integrating additional power supplies.

This extensive wiring work would create disruptive noise, disturb patients’ rest, and significantly impact the hospital’s daily operations. With an estimated installation time of 15-20 days or more, such delays are unacceptable for maintaining seamless patient care. Prolonged disruptions could lead to patient dissatisfaction and strain on hospital staff.

Noise Disturbance & No privacy protection

Wired Nurse Call System supports a two-way duplex intercom providing direct and clear communication between nurses and patients. However, the intercom with high volume will disturb other patients resting in the same hospital ward, creating noise disturbances and an uncomfortable environment that impacts the overall experience negatively.

Additionally, while the system allows patients to call nurses for assistance, sometimes patients call nurses but feel shy to tell them loudly via intercom in front of other patients about what they need. There is no privacy protection for them, leading to potential embarrassment and a lack of trust in the system.

Calling Success Rate

Hanoi Medical University Hospital also requested a high calling success rate to ensure effective communication between patients and nurses. In emergencies, patients should be able to communicate promptly and effectively with nurses. The hospital was concerned that if the nurse call system failed to receive signals promptly, it could result in serious consequences, especially in ICU wards or VIP wards. Reliability in nurse call systems is crucial to ensure patient safety and satisfaction, making seamless communication an absolute priority in the hospital.

Limited Budget

Hanoi Medical University Hospital requires an affordable nurse call system that meets its daily care needs without the added cost of complex, unnecessary features. Given the hospital’s budget limitations, it’s essential to find a cost-effective solution that simplifies communication between patients and nurses while ensuring quality care.

Maintenance Simplicity

Hanoi Medical University Hospital faces the challenge of having no in-house technicians capable of repairing the nurse call system. As a result, hospital leaders are seeking a reliable solution, that requires minimal maintenance and ensures uninterrupted patient care. The ideal nurse call system should operate efficiently with minimal disruption to both medical staff and patients, avoiding frequent repairs and reducing downtime.

Aidbell Wireless Nurse Call System: The Perfect Solution for Hanoi Medical University Hospital

After understanding the specific concerns and requirements of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, Ms. Celia designed a tailored solution using the Aidbell Wireless Nurse Call System. She highlighted the key benefits of this system, which address the hospital’s unique challenges and ensure seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. The following advantages make Aidbell Wireless Nurse Call System the ideal choice for this hospital:

Nurse call button installation

No Wiring Required

Aidbell Wireless Nurse Call System eliminates the need for complex wiring, significantly reducing installation time and minimizing noise and disruption. This easy-to-deploy system ensures that hospital operations continue smoothly without any interference.

The nurse call button is powered by a single 12V23A battery, which is installed inside the button and fixed to the wall using a double-sided sticker. The main control unit is placed at the nurse station or mounted on the wall, powered by a 12V adaptor. With no need for cabling, the system offers quick, quiet installation that can be completed in just 1-2 days, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital activities.

No Intercom Design

Unlike traditional wired nurse call systems, Aidbell Wireless Nurse Call System is designed without a two-way intercom feature. When patients need assistance, they simply press the nurse call button, triggering an alert on the wireless receiver at the nurse station. Nurses can then promptly attend to the patient’s room to provide care based on the alert.

This streamlined process eliminates disruptive noise, ensuring a quiet and restful environment for all patients. By removing the need for loud intercom communication, the wireless nurse call system enhances the patient experience while maintaining efficient and reliable communication with the nursing staff.

LORA Technology for High Calling Success Rate

Aidbell Wireless Nurse Call System adopts advanced LoRa technology to provide stable and wide coverage throughout the hospital. This ensures patient calls are accurately transmitted and received by medical staff, regardless of their location within the facility.

With coverage that is three times stronger than traditional 433MHz wireless systems, Aidbell system delivers a Calling Success Rate of up to 95%. This high reliability addresses hospitals’ concerns about call failures during emergencies, ensuring timely assistance and enhanced patient safety.

Low cost

Aidbell Wireless Nurse Call System proved to be a budget-friendly option that offers great value and equal functionalities. Typically, the cost of a wireless system is only one-third of that of a wired system, making it an ideal choice for budget-limited projects. This affordable solution is particularly well-suited for new or smaller medical facilities that are still working toward profitability.

Minimal Maintenance

Aidbell system only requires minimal maintenance, with the only regular task being battery replacement every 1-2 years, depending on usage frequency. This low-maintenance requirement help to reduce the hospital’s long-term maintenance costs while ensuring the entire system operates efficiently at all times. Furthermore, the maintenance process is seamless and non-disruptive, ensuring patients’ comfort and a peaceful hospital environment.
