The guest pager CT-P520 is programmed with a unique ID number that corresponds to the customer’s order or table number. The customer is then free to browse the store or wait in a designated waiting area while their service is being prepared.
When their service is ready, a staff member presses a button on the transmitter which sends a signal to the guest pager. The pager will vibrate or emit a sound, alerting the customer that their service is ready. The customer can then return the pager to the restaurant counter or reception area.
Paging devices are also used in the healthcare industry. For instance, a nurse can use a pager to page the patients when it is their turn to meet the doctors. It is an effective solution for queuing in hospitals.
